Burnin' burns up the river during the Southern 80.

NSW team Burnin’ took the honours in the second-tier Unlimited Inboard Expert class.

Driver Travis Stone was thrilled with the efforts of his two talented skiers.

‘‘It’s just great. It’s the first time we’ve had Brayden (Jameson) behind the boat on a Southern 80 and he’s done bloody good,’’ Stone said.

‘‘Oompa (Cameron Mitchell) has been with me for three and a half years now, so these two guys have really gelled and they’re really great.’’

The crew from Seelands won a hotly run race by just three seconds from the Adam Lees driven Tru Blue, while 1350F1 finished third another two seconds back.

The category was cut short when racing was red-flagged around 2pm.

Skier Cameron Mitchell said it hadn’t been an easy day at the office.

‘‘Conditions were pretty hard actually, it was pretty windy and some of the straights got a bit choppy,’’ he said.

‘‘But it was still a pretty good run and we’re happy.’’

Mitchell’s skiing partner Brayden Jameson agreed with his assessment of the day.

‘‘A couple of the straights were a little choppy and the wind was blowing us around a little bit, but other than that it was a good solid run,’’ Jameson said.
