TWO great mates had the opportunity to watch their daughters complete the Southern 80, when Thundernuts finished fourth in the Sub Junior Lites Boys and Girls category.
Driver Brett Dominguez, who along with obersver Daniel Branson towed Sharna Dominguez and Kasey Branson for the race, said he was delighted their daughters had competed.
‘‘Myself and Daniel have been mates for years, and for these two girls who are best friends as well to get out there and do their first race together is awesome,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s the first time Kasey and Sharna had skied the full 80 kilometres, and they managed to do it today without stopping in what’s probably not the best conditions out there.’’
Sharna Dominguez said the course had been even tougher than expected, but she had loved being able to ski the event with her friend.
Prime Suspect won the category by nearly 13 minutes, from Floor-It in second place.
